The purpose of this objective is:
to maintain a Uniform Signal to Noise Ratio throughout the Classroom.
|
 |
You can Sit Anywhere in the Classroom and hear
as well as
any other Student in the Classroom because the Audio Level is
the Same for all the Students in the Classroom.
|
 |
A Higher Signal to Noise Ratio that is
Uniform throughout
the Classroom makes it easier to hear the Teacher for all the
Students.
|
|
Technology Advancements in Speaker Design
make it possible to deliver a Uniform SNR with One Speaker
|
In the past either two or four speakers were used in the
classroom to achieve a Uniform SNR throughout the classroom. The reason
for this is that conventional speakers disperse sound like flashlights
disperse light and a number of speakers were required to maintain a
Uniform Signal to Noise Ratio throughout the Classroom. However with the
technological advances in speaker technology, now it is possible to
maintain a Uniform Signal to Noise Ratio throughout the classroom with One
Wide Dispersion Speaker.
|
A Uniform SNR - Objective is Important but
it is not the Most Important
Objective.
|
 |
A Higher Teacher Audio Level
that is the Same throughout the Classroom
may be easier to hear but not
easier to understand.
(for example: the echo could be so high that nothing is clear)
|
 |
A Uniform Signal to Noise Ratio throughout the
Classroom is not synonymous with High Clarity and Intelligibility Audio.
